The APP scams reimbursement requirement comes into force on 7 October 2024 and firms are already making progress to implement this.
We are keen to support this work and to collaborate with industry to ensure consistent understanding of the policy as well as preparedness and effective, timely implementation of the requirement.
We recognise the value of setting up industry engagement sessions in the lead up to implementation and we will hold them from the end of March on a fortnightly basis.
We will discuss different areas of the policy including scope, PSPs’ obligations, the division of liability, consumer standard of caution, vulnerability, complex claims and others.
Our engagement will run alongside the workshops Pay.UK are leading with firms on operational readiness, and the development of the single system Pay.UK is procuring to support firms in managing reimbursement.
Many thanks to those that joined us for our earlier industry engagement sessions. We hope you found the conversations helpful.
We will host the next two online sessions on:
- Complex business models - Tuesday 18 June 10:00 to 11:30
- Me2Me payments - Thursday 20 June 14:30 to 16:00
If you have any questions regarding the session please email us at appscams@psr.org.uk
For questions regarding the APP scams policy please email appscamspolicyclarifications@psr.org.uk
Registration for the sessions on Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 June have now closed.
For those who have registered, joining details will be sent the day before the session.
