On 16 June, the PSR and FCA published a joint statement setting out plans to increase our work with industry to develop shared solutions to deliver appropriate and sustainable access to cash that meet consumers’ needs, including responding to changing needs over time.
To support this work, we have established four industry working groups, each with an independent chair:
- Working Group 1: Consumer and SME Needs - Chair: Mark Chidley (FCA Consumer panel)
- Working Group 2: Access to Branch Services - Chair: Helen Grimshaw (RBS/NatWest)
- Working Group 3: Access to Cash Withdrawals - Chair: Kate Fitzgerald (PSR Senior Adviser)
- Working Group 4: Digital Transition - Chair: Chris Pond (Lending Standards Board)
In addition to the industry working groups, the PSR and FCA jointly chair a Steering Group to provide oversight and direction for each of the working groups. We have now started our stakeholder engagement with SME bodies and consumer groups. This engagement, along with the industry groups outlined above, will ensure we deliver sustainable solutions for cash access that meet consumers’ needs over the longer term.
