How to handle PSR classified information

We operate an information classification and handling system which covers four distinct categories of information: Public, PSR Official, PSR Sensitive and PSR Secret.

If you’ve received any PSR material marked Public there are no limitations on the use, storage or redistribution.

If you’ve received information marked PSR Official, PSR Sensitive or PSR Secret, you must not redistribute this information without the explicit authority of the PSR. It must be stored in a secure manner which restricts unauthorised or inappropriate access and it must be destroyed or deleted when you no longer require it.

Sharing confidential information by email: Egress Switch encryption

We use Egress Switch email encryption software to securely share confidential information by email and send and receive large files.

Sending encrypted emails and large files with Egress Switch is as easy as sending a conventional email.

Existing Egress Switch users

If you already use Egress Switch you can use the software to send encrypted information or large files to people at the PSR.

New Egress Switch users

If you receive an Egress Switch email from us, please read this guide to help you access the email. You can read secure messages and access encrypted files quickly and easily, and you don’t need to download or install any software.

Please note that we share our IT infrastructure with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which means messages we send using Egress will contain the FCA’s logo.

If you want to send encrypted emails and large files to us using Egress Switch, you can download free desktop and mobile apps.
